How to Dress for Your Session
Keep It Coordinated, Not Matching
Choose colors that complement each other instead of everyone wearing the exact same outfit. Soft neutrals, earthy tones, creams, muted blues, sage greens, soft browns, and warm pastels photograph beautifully and create a timeless look.
Great color palettes include:
Cream + tan + soft blue
Sage + ivory + denim
Beige + soft blush + white
Rust + cream + brown
Navy + camel + light neutrals
Avoid Busy Patterns & Large Logos
Small subtle patterns can work well, but overly busy prints, neon colors, graphics, or large logos can distract from the emotion and connection in your images.
Comfort Matters
Choose clothing that feels like you. When you’re comfortable, it shows in your photos. Flowing dresses, cozy sweaters, linen fabrics, layered textures, and well-fitted outfits photograph beautifully while still feeling natural.
For Dog Sessions
Your pup doesn’t need a fancy outfit to shine — although bandanas, bow ties, collars, or simple accessories can add a fun touch! Neutral leashes and harnesses photograph best when possible.
Helpful tips:
Bring treats and water
Avoid retractable leashes if possible
Grooming 1–2 weeks before your session is ideal
Don’t stress about perfect behavior — patience is always part of the process
Think Timeless
Try to choose outfits you’ll still love years from now. Simple, classic styling helps keep the focus on your connection, expressions, and story.
Movement Photographs Beautifully
Long dresses, textured fabrics, cardigans, and layered outfits add softness and movement to images, especially outdoors.
What to Bring
An extra outfit option
Comfortable shoes for walking between locations
Lint roller (especially for pet parents!)
Touch-up makeup or brush if desired
Water/snacks for little ones and pups
Most Importantly…
Please don’t stress over perfection. The most meaningful images come from genuine connection, laughter, cuddles, and moments shared together.
My goal is to guide you every step of the way so your session feels relaxed, natural, and enjoyable.
